Rocky’s unconventional approach is impressively demonstrated with the Dark Star. For this series, Rocky used tobacco for the first time that comes from a seed sourced in Paraguay and grown in Honduras. The flawless, milk chocolate-colored Corojo wrapper comes from Honduras, as does the binder. The filler is a carefully crafted blend of tobaccos from the Jamastrán Valley in Honduras and Jalapa, Nicaragua, giving the cigar an impressive complexity and depth.

After intensive tasting sessions with a total of 63 different blends, Rocky and his team finally settled on the blend with the code RP23-17A. This medium-bodied blend unfolds flavors with every draw, ranging from enticing spice to dark chocolate, espresso, and subtle hints of dried fruit. The Dark Star is an outstanding example of the art of blending and Rocky’s passion for perfection, taking smokers on an incomparable sensory journey. This exceptional quality was also recognized by Cigar Journal, as the Dark Star ranked 5th among the best cigars of 2024.
